So I pretty much just have to wait until things change. I know right now is probably the only time in my life I will ever have this much freedom, so I'm simply enjoying it. Things will change one day, I know, whether I make them change or not, so there's no reason to upset the status quo when I'm already happy. I quit my old job because the money I was getting from it did not strike even with how much I hated everything about the place. I don't want to go through that again, so I'm taking my time looking for a new job.
One thing I will change, though, is that the weekly story will now be Dreamscape chapters. There are pros and cons to this, as with everything else in life. First, I won't be writing anything pertaining to Nacre Then on a regular basis anymore, but I've written quite a bit anyway, so that's okay. Second, people won't be reading my Saturday posts anymore, because it will require them to have read the previous eight or more chapters, and in my experience that is simply not going to happen, even if everything is readily available to any interested parties. But that's also okay, because you know what? Nobody reads this blog yet anyway, so there's no reason for me to do anything for anyone other than myself. The best way for me to improve my writing is to write longer works, and a weekly short story simply doesn't cut it. But at the same time, since I don't have any deadline to be writing Dreamscape, it doesn't get done. So this is a way to fix that, and ideally yes, it means I would be writing less, but realistically, I'll probably actually be writing more, because the Dreamscape chapters are usually around two thousand words long, as opposed to the average one thousand for a Saturday short.
Perhaps when I finish Dreamscape's first draft I'll go back to writing short stories, but it's impossible to tell what I'll be doing in that time because that will be literally months away. In fact, I will have written over two hundred blog posts by the time Dreamscape is finished, if all happens according to this schedule. There's no reason to try to predict what I'll want to do in that time.
So, in the meantime, I'm going to be playing Overwatch.
